[Life will drop so much more down on Julie's bird-boned shoulders over the next year or so, but for now, this is enough to contend with. The shrug is almost there in the silence before she speaks.
Shrug.]
It's fine. I mean... it's not, but, it is. I think he wanted it anyway.
[Whistler's concern is less with what her father would have wanted or what he was ok with than what she wants or how she's handling it.
In fact if he were honest whether or not her father wanted to go matters very little to him except in the small way that perhaps it cushions the blow for her. If it even does that.]
( She holds up a pair of pale, embroidered jeans to the camera with a little bit of difficulty. Not the easiest thing in the world, but enough to give Julie a look at the details. )
[It doesn't take her too long, relatively, to get there. If Serah's still in the same place when she gets there, she arrives a little out of breath and with a slight grin.]
[They look about the right size to her, too, but you can never be sure about these things. Julie, not terribly shy, doesn't waste any time in toeing her boots off and shucking off her current pair of jeans to try the ones Serah's holding instead.]
Oof, I think I've put on weight while I've been here. [She laughs, but they fit fairly comfortably once they're on.]
Serah's just gonna... uh, make sure no passers by get a glance. She's grown used to travelling with Noel, to camping out and not having a proper bed, but even then they prefer finding a private space to change when they need to.
It mustn't be like that everywhere, but instincts kick in anyway.
And then they're on and Serah brightens up, glad her choice fits and- )
They look amazing on you!
( Not that it's surprising. Julie's a pretty woman, and the jeans do a lot to highlight that. )
[When you live in as close quarters as Julie has for so long, you lose a lot of shame around other people.
That said, it may have been a different story entirely had Serah been a guy, but she isn't, so she gets to see the flash of Julie's tanned legs before she's pulling the other pair of jeans on.
Damn, what I wouldn't give for a full-length mirror right now.
Right? ( She laughs. They're not easy to come by, even in the stores. But there's a snap of Serah's fingers as the idea comes to her. ) Should I take a picture?
( She can at least see the full effect via their phones. )
Mhm! [She'll even strike a pose for it, laughing as soon as Serah indicates she's finished. Julie moves forwards to peer at the phone screen, a smile still lingering on her face.]
They do look good. You've really got an eye for this.
( Smiles all around then. They're leaving this world behind and moving on to something else, somewhere else. And maybe that place will hold the answers the people here need. Or maybe not, but at least they get to find cute clothes while preparing for whatever the next planet holds. )
You think?
( She just saw what she liked and thought it would look good on a friend. But now that it's sorted, maybe it's time to go home and put her shopping away. )
[ Being a literal Flower God chosen by Heaven Donut's got a few nifty abilities in times like these where he needs to delivery dozen and dozen of bouquets all in one day! He's like Santa Claus! And like Santa Claus he plays the part and dresses up in the good old white and red! So, one moment she might be at home, at the store, out hunting - wherever she might Hadriel's local self-appointed Cupid comes a knocking wearing the traditional garb of his brethren sitting a top a decorated bike. ]
[She has not, and the current "Null situation" being what it is, the noise is met with a loud yelp and Julie scrambling off her couch before she (predictably) goes to investigate the source of the noise.
And she finds, to her clear confusion, an elf holding a bottle of wine and looking very pleased with herself.]
